Welcome to Liberty Point - Philly’s largest restaurant ever. The new outdoor-indoor concept restaurant has a capacity of 1,400 people, three main levels for food, drinks and live entertainment, five bars, beautiful landscaping, lush plants and unobstructed views of the Delaware River.

Summer is almost here, so we want to tell you about this brand new outdoor restaurant and some others to add to your list of places to go as the weather gets warmer.

Liberty Point

If you’re looking for your new go to summer spot, you might have just found it. It’s a fun outdoor environment with views of the river and the Ben Franklin Bridge. It’s a great spot for date night, family outings, special celebrations, and enjoying time with friends. In the heart of the restaurant complex there is a permanent stage. They will feature new entertainment weekly with live music on Friday & Saturday and DJs throughout the week.

Liberty Point offers a casual dining menu of bites, sandwiches, salads and raw bar selections. When it comes to drinks, they serve beer, wine, and summer drinks and cocktails that pair perfectly with the waterfront backdrop. There’s 25,000 square feet of space outside and 3,000 square feet inside. It’ll be open seven days a week from 12pm to 2am. They hired 150 employees to make Liberty Point a reality.

The Neighborhood

Located in Old City, it’s set on the Delaware River Waterfront at the Independence Seaport Museum on Penn’s Landing. Nearby is Spruce Street Harbor Park, Blue Cross River Rink, Cherry Street Pier, Race Street Pier and Craft Hall.

Old City is one of our favorites in Philadelphia. It’s home to so many of Philly’s historic sites, it’s quaint and charming, it’s right on the water and it’s a little quieter than the hustle bustle of Center City. But you’ll find incredible restaurants, shops and activities in this neighborhood.

Future Development Project in the Works at Penn’s Landing

There is a $2.2 billion redevelopment plan for all of Penn’s Landing, according to the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation. A New York developer had the winning proposal to bring 3.5 million square feet of living, working and shopping to the area, which includes 12 new towers of homes. At the center of it all is a $225 million park that will connect Front Street to the riverfront between Chestnut and Walnut Streets. This new park will include a new skating rink, water features, a café and a variety of other active and passive uses. Construction is expected to begin later this year for that.
