7 Questions With Venture Philly:

Ari Silverman Shares His Philly Favorites, Advice, and Info For New Residents.

Meet Ari.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Ari moved to Philadelphia in 2018, and has been loving it here ever since! A Penn State graduate, foodie, major fan of Reading Terminal Market, Ari is personable, knowledgeable, and eager to help you find your dream home.

What is your favorite Philadelphia neighborhood and why?

Northern Liberties, without a doubt. It is so close to everything, but it's rare that I feel the need to leave! Living right on 2nd Street, I have amazing exposure to beautiful homes, public murals, and lively bars/restaurants.

Why did you decide you wanted to get into the real estate business?

People are at the core of this industry, and making people feel good about themselves has always been a driving force in my life. This is an opportunity for me to genuinely help people establish their wealth for years to come, and having this as a career feels surreal.

If you were to buy an investment property in 2020 and plan on selling in 2025, which neighborhood would you target and why?

My 'neighbor' neighborhood, Olde Kensington! Frankly speaking, it's not difficult to understand why this neighborhood will appreciate so much in the upcoming 5-10 years — it is right next to some of the hottest neighborhoods in the country (Fishtown and Northern Liberties) and has great accessibility to public transit downtown.

Available Olde Kensington Properties:

If you were entertaining an out of town guest who has never been to Philadelphia before, what restaurant would you take them to first?

First stop would be my favorite place in the entire city, Reading Terminal Market. Depending on dietary restrictions, I would implore them to grab a Dinic's Roast Pork Sandwich with Sharp Provolone and Broccoli Rabe.

When you're not assisting clients with their real estate needs, what do you enjoy doing in your downtime?

I have no shame admitting my favorite non-work activity is Dungeons and Dragons with my friends. I grew up a fantasy nerd, so having a creative outlet on a weekly basis where pure absurdity is commonplace, it keeps a smile on my face regardless of what I have going on in my life.

One piece of advice you would give a first time home buyer before starting the process?

Find a Realtor you trust. Find a mortgage lender you trust. We are fiduciaries, only when you trust us can we do what's in your best interest, and put you in a position to get the property of your dreams.

One thing any new resident should know before moving to Philly?

The best bang for your buck is going to be in the Northeast section of Philadelphia. I'm talking activities, art, history, cost of living, food, commute times, and investment opportunities. Growing up a native son of Pittsburgh and a diehard Pittsburgh sports fan, if I was able to fall in love with Philly, I know you have no excuse!
