What is your favorite Philadelphia neighborhood and why?

Society Hill because I appreciate the historical significance and the quiet and calmness of the neighborhood. It is regarded of the most historic square mile in America and is a great family friendly community.  Both of my kids attended the 200 year old elementary school St. Peter's and loved spending their free time playing at the neighborhood gem Three Bear Park. I also live in a very historical property, as it was built for George Washington and is the only consulate to survive the Revolutionary War.  Additionally, as part of the Center City District all of the electrical wires are underground and it is swept and maintained by the city. It is home to numerous parks and historic treasures and has amazing trees and flowers on every block.

Why did you decide you wanted to get into the real estate business?

I acquired my real estate in 1996 when I first moved to Philadelphia from Chicago to attend Wharton Business School. I saw a tremendous opportunity to make a difference in people's lives, attend school, and simultaneously build a great career. Marketing, sales, and architecture have been my passion for decades.

If you were to buy an investment property in 2020 and plan on selling in 2025, which neighborhood would you target and why?

If the goal is not to buy and hold, then I would focus on North Broad and Girard Ave. Temple University is becoming a sought after state school and the urban experience is part of the reason.

If you were entertaining an out of town guest who has never been to Philadelphia before, what restaurant would you take them to first?

It would be very difficult to choose, but if they are only here for 1 day, I would suggest:

Breakfast: Suraya for Meat Lahmajun with poached egg and side chicken skewer

Brunch: Noord for Fresh-Baked Loaf of warm Bread and Butter, Smoke fish board

Lunch: Morimoto at the Sushi Bar for Omakase

Dinner: Parc for French Onion Soup and Roasted Chicken

When you're not assisting clients with their real estate needs, what do you enjoy doing in your downtime?

I love being with my wife and 2 teenagers as much as possible. I enjoy cooking, playing soccer, and car racing!

One piece of advice you would give a first time home buyer before starting the process?

Interview multiple agents and don’t decide on the spot. Ask smart questions that matter. I will happily suggest questions to ask based on what you are looking to purchase.

One thing any new resident should know before moving to Philly?

Watch out for the parking authority!
