Mina Stevens Shares Her Favorites, Real Estate Advice, & Info For New Residents to Philadelphia.

Meet Mina.

Mina is a Philadelphia and Delaware County native. She took a real estate course in college and fell in love with it, however she graduated with a degree in Finance and worked 3 years at an investment firm after college. She then decided to follow her passion for real estate in 2021. She loves brunch dates with friends, traveling, and spending time with family. She absolutely loves boathouse row, whether it’s going there for a walk, a jog or just to relax and read.

What is your favorite Philadelphia neighborhood and why?

Center City is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Philadelphia, and would highly recommend to someone who is visiting. You get an immense range of activities from restaurants, museums, and city shopping. Plus there are great views of the skyline and must-see historic landmarks.

Why did you decide you wanted to get into the real estate business?

I have always been intrigued with Real Estate, but I never knew which area to get started in. My accounting professor in college recommended that I take a course of his and he was a licensed Realtor in Maryland. After working in Finance for 3 years, I decided it was my time to take a leap of faith and pursue real estate full time. Since going full time, I have worked with a range of people from first time home buyers to investors. I love making my clients feel more comfortable and confident through the process for such a huge purchase. The journey has been well worth it.

If you were to buy an investment property in 2021 and plan on selling in 2026, which neighborhood would you target and why?

I would definitely target the Olde Kensington section of Philadelphia. The transition of that area in the past year has been mind blowing. Seeing a block of vacant lots go to a block of new construction homes and condos has been amazing to watch. I know by 2027 it will look like a completely different neighborhood and the Return on Investment will be entirely worth it.

If you were entertaining an out of town guest who has never been to Philadelphia before, what restaurant would you take them to first?

One of my favorite restaurants in the city is JG Sky High. It has a great aesthetic and ambience. It is located on the 60th floor of Philadelphia’s tallest building so you get an amazing view of the Skyline. Head up to the top in a glass elevator and enjoy great food and drinks.

When you're not assisting clients with their real estate needs, what do you enjoy doing in your downtime?

I spend a lot of time traveling solo or with friends. Whether it’s volunteering abroad or weekend fun, I love venturing off to new places meeting new people and building connections.

One piece of advice you would give a first time home buyer before starting the process?

My biggest piece of advice would be to have patience. So many people give up because the process could be very tedious and stressful. From deciding on a home you love to actually getting to the closing table, there can be many speed bumps along the way. However, choosing the right realtor and team will make the process much smoother by having the expertise and experience in the field.
