What is your favorite Philadelphia neighborhood and why?

My favorite Philadelphia neighborhood is Fishtown. I love the nightlife, the festivals, the arts, the restaurants, and the locals. I do have to mention that my second favorite neighborhood is Powelton Village, I love the Victorian architecture and the abundant greenery.

What do you love about being in real estate?

Working in real estate has allowed me to connect with people. I love helping people get to the next milestone in their lives. I also appreciate being exposed to different types of properties and elevating my knowledge of neighborhoods that my clients may be interested in.

What is the one thing any new resident should know before moving to Philadelphia?

They should know that Philadelphia is a melting pot of diversity and they will find tons of variety when it comes to culture, food, and entertainment. It would be wise to explore as many neighborhoods as possible before settling down. This might be challenging for individuals who live far away from Philadelphia, but if that is the case, working with an agent can provide important insight into the different markets which will make it easier to choose an area to move to.

Available Northern Liberties Properties:

If you were entertaining an out of town guest who has never been to Philadelphia before, what restaurant would you take them to first?

I would take them to D’Alessandros. I know many people will say that their cheesesteaks suck but I completely disagree. I guess everyone has their own preferences. I would also take them to Cheu; I love their ramen.

When you’re not assisting your clients, what do you do in your spare time?

If the weather isn’t awful, I love being outdoors hiking. My dog Layla and I like to rack up our outdoor time together, especially in the summer months. I also love traveling, gardening, and practicing my photography skills.

What is one piece of advice you would give a first time home buyer before starting the process?

I would advise them to make a list of 'must-haves' and 'deal-breakers' for the home they want to purchase. Having a clear understanding of exactly what they want will make the search much easier and will ensure that they acquire most of their 'must-haves.' I would also advise them to work with a great lender who is flexible with their needs and can educate them about different types of mortgages, as well as help them find any grants they may be eligible for. Lastly and most importantly, finding a great real estate agent who is a helping hand and resource center from the start is crucial. Having an agent who is skillful, knowledgeable, patient, and available for showings and to answer any questions related to the process will save them a lot of headaches.
