5 Philly Dog Parks For Your
4-Legged Friends

Philadelphia is a great city for walking, especially with your furry friend in tow. From neighborhood to neighborhood, you’re bound to find many others walking their pups and letting them get out that energy at the local dog park. From gated parks canopied in trees to grassy terrain overlooking the skyline, here are some of the best dog parks in Philly that make owning a city dog so much easier.

Seger Dog Park

1001 Rodman Street

Seger Dog Park is perfect for parents of fur babies and human babies alike, located adjacent to a family-friendly playground. The dog park offers enclosures for both big and small dogs, making it a safe place for your pups to run around free of a leash.

Schuylkill River Dog Run

2500 Spruce Street

Just off the banks of the Schuylkill River Trail, this turf-covered park is a spacious option in close proximity to Rittenhouse, Fitler Square, and Graduate Hospital. It’s definitely one of the most scenic dog parks, too, with great views of the neighboring river and skyscrapers. Just keep in mind this park doesn’t allow small children into the enclosures.

Penn’s Landing Dog Park

1 N Delaware Ave.

Penn’s Landing Dog Park offers a stone’s throw view of the Delaware River and Ben Franklin Bridge. This park offers two sections, one for big dogs and one for smaller dogs, as well as water bowls, benches, and plenty of shade. It’s just a short walk for pups coming from Old City or any riverfront attractions like Cherry Street Pier or Spruce Street Harbor Park.

Palmer Doggie Depot

Palmer Doggie Depot

35 E. Palmer St.

Not far from the neighborhood’s best bars and breweries, this Fishtown dog park keeps it simple but on point, featuring a double-gated entrance for easy coming and going and a combination of dirt and stone grounding. Keep in mind that the park is one single, though very spacious, enclosure, meaning there are no separate sections for smaller dogs.

Mario Lanza Dog Park

Mario Lanza Park

200 Queen St.

If you’re a dog owner looking to find a whole community with your dog park, Mario Lanza Park is your spot. This park is managed by Queen Village Canine, a group that organizes meetups and dog-friendly happy hours throughout the neighborhood. The gated park also features benches, water for the dogs, and is surrounding by the neighborhood’s charming architecture.
