Why We Love It

A popular neighborhood just outside of Philadelphia, with plenty of room for summer fun and outdoor activities, Merion Station is a wonderful place to call home! Part of Montgomery County, Merion Station is one of Philly’s top suburbs! Just North-East of Philadelphia, it is home to a wonderful selection of golf-courses and family friendly activities, with easy access to Center City on the Paoli-Thorndale Regional Rail SEPTA.

This neighborhood is ideal for individuals commuting into the City, and even more so for growing families! Merion Station is a peaceful area with a rich history of its own, quiet and peaceful, but with no shortage of fun bars and restaurants!

Serving up authentic Thai cuisine, Coco Thai Bistro is a delicious and cozy place to enjoy a meal. Other local favorites include gourmet pizza and wine bar inspired by Italian flavors, Zagafen, and the ever popular Pescatore BYOB.

Arts and Culture

Merion Station was the site of the original Barnes Foundation which housed an incredible collection of fine art for its residents to discover. Today, residents can enjoy access to independent works by local playwrights at the Theatre Ariel, and discover artwork and kid-friendly workshops at Sweet Mabel in nearby Narberth. The Merion Tribute House, a popular venue for weddings and events, is a wonderful place to explore gardens and learn about the site’s history dating back to WWI.

Local Parks

The Merion Botanical Park, home to over 13 acres of green space, and a variety of flora and fauna, is a favorite amongst locals. At Saint Joseph’s University, Merion Station residents can also explore the Arboretum of the Barnes Foundation. With lush gardens, tree lined walking paths, and countless places to soak up the sun, this arboretum is a magical place to spend a sunny afternoon.

Within the Lower Merion School district, Elementary schools include Belmont Hills, Cynwyd, Gladwyne, Merion, Penn Valley, Penn Wayne. Middle school options are Bala Cynwyd Middle School, or Welsh Valley Middle School, and high school options are Harriton High School or Lower Merion High School.
