Why We Love It

While Media itself is a small borough, it draws more than a quarter million visitors from its surrounding townships each year. With an array of weekday activity at the County Court House, Shopping, Dining, hiking, and more, Media is without a doubt one of our favorite Philadelphia suburbs. Highly walkable, Media residents make their way to their downtown area to enjoy local dining and events, with readily available public transportation including the area trolley. (P.S. The Media Courthouse is a beautiful historic building — check it out!)

Neighborhood Feel

Measuring only 0.8 square miles, Media’s proximity to everything makes it the ideal town for families and local businesses . Walk to several parks, schools and playgrounds, houses of worship, community centers, and entertainment venues along State Street and you’re there in minutes.The small size of this area, paired with it’s passionate community members, and convenience to Philadelphia, makes the borough of Media one of the best Philly suburbs for those looking to move outside the city. Home values in Media have gone up by 3.8 % in the past year alone and this is estimated to continue to increase over time.

Our Favorite Restaurants

A few of our absolute favorite restaurants in Media are Burlap and Bean (we know — not quite a restaurant, but how could we pass up writing about this must-try coffee spot?) and Brick & Brew Pub, as well as Azie Media — the perfect spot for fail-safe sushi and a good time with friends.

Arts and Culture

The Media Theatre of the Performing Arts hosts an array of events, classes, and productions for community members. Another local theatre, The Hedgerow Theatre, is a resident ensemble, meaning actors live and work together year-round to create spectacular performances.

Local Parks

Media is surrounded by local parks and outdoor destinations. During the fall months, stop by Linvilla Orchards, a local favorite, for fresh apple cider, corn mazes, and all your classic family-fun. Ridley Creek State Park, encompassing over 2,606 acres of Delaware County woodlands and meadows, is just 16 miles from Center City Philadelphia. Other area parks include Glenn Providence Park, and Rose Tree Park.
