Take a Trip - Fitler Square

Made up of stately brownstones and classic Philadelphia row homes along tree-lined streets, Fitler Square is tucked away along the Schuylkill River, just west of Rittenhouse Square. This sleepy neighborhood may not have the same hustle and bustle as the majority of the neighborhoods in Philly, but the residents wouldn't have it any other way!

Why We Love It

Largely residential with several green spaces, this area is the perfect place to take a romantic stroll or just kind of get away from it all without really having to go far. Tranquil, serene and stately are the best words to describe the vibes here. This pocket of Philadelphia is where the well-to-do call home, with an average median price of over $1 Million, it is one of Philadelphia's most expensive places to reside and is also home to some of Philadelphia's most prestigious private schools.

Neighborhood Feel

Living in Fitler Square offers residents a taste of the City’s dense urban feel, and most residents in this neighborhood own their homes. Fitler Square is home to several bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and parks, and many young professionals live in Fitler Square. Between the roughly 18% of residents with children, and the significant population of young professionals, Fitler Square is an exceptionally welcoming and progressive pocket of Philadelphia.

Our Favorite Restaurants

A casual Italian restaurant, Trattoria Carina, has a menu that changes seasonally, always featuring a variety of homemade pastas and classic Italian dishes. Nearby Cotoletta also serves up delicious Italian food using locally sources ingredients, and Good Karma Cafe is a perfect place to unwind with an ethically sources cup of coffee and your favorite pastry to go with it!

Arts and Culture

Just a few blocks North of Fitler Square Park, Twenty-Two Gallery sells fine art from local artists, allowing Fitler Square and Rittenhouse residents alike to support their local community of artists while browsing their works! In the area, there is also a self-guided public art tour through the Philadelphia Public Art organization, perfect for a sunny afternoon of exploring!

Local Parks

Of course, the neighborhood name-sake, Fitler Square Park, is an incredibly popular destination for residents and local families to spend time outdoors. The Shuylkill River Park boarders Fitler Square to the East, with fenced-in dog parks for small and large dogs, large lawns, and a community garden! Not too far away, Rittenhouse Square park is also a wonderful place to spend time outdoors, soak up the sun, and explore Philadelphia’s green spaces.

Schools

Fitler Square is serviced by a number of schooling options, and you can find out more about area schools here or by searching on the School District of Philadelphia’s website here! Fitler Square is also home to a number of area private schools — a major draw for new residents!
